In an effort to ensure that Malawi’s Security personnel live in decent houses, the State President, His Excellency Dr Lazarus MacCathy Chakwera, promised Malawians that his government shall implement the construction of 10,000 Security Institutions staff houses across Malawi.
In the photos, are 15 Staff Houses at Malamya in Malindi, Mangochi. Out of the 15 Houses, three are for senior police officers while 12 are for junior officers.
The Mangochi Malamya Police Houses are completely fitted with running water, which is solar pumped from boreholes into reserve tanks, Electricity, car park for each house, and covered car park for senior police officers. Each house is also fitted with a water heater (Geyser). A modern sewer system has been installed to ensure proper treatment of the sewerage.
The Project started in November 2020 and was completed within the agreed project period, by end of the year 2021.
The Project has successfully been carried out by an Indegenous Malawian Construction company called DEC Construction Limited .
It has been President Chakwera’s Commitment to see local construction companies taking part in Building A New Malawi towards the 2063 Developmental Agenda.
It is worth noting that our own local companies have the capacity to take part in developing Malawi. This is has been proved by DEC Construction Limited which has managed to deliver a construction project within the stipulated Contract term.
More Security Institutions Staff Houses are being constructed in all the 28 Districts across Malawi Service. The targeted institutions are Malawi Police, Malawi Defence Forces, Malawi Prisons Service, and the Malawi Immigration.
