National Bank of Malawi Plc has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Malawi Defence Force (MDF) to supply theatre equipment worth 100 million kwacha.
The equipment, which is still in transit, is expected to be installed at the new military Hospital at Kamuzu Barracks.
Upon signing of the MoU, MDF Commander Vincent Nundwe, has pointed out that the MDF was sending military personnel requiring surgery to Blantyre for treatment, a development that was costly and time consuming.

Nundwe has further highlighted that the MDF already has well trained staff working in the millitary health service but only the equipment was lacking.
On his part Chief Executive Officer for National Bank of Malawi, Macfussy Kawawa, stressed that the donation was worth it because it will serve a lot of people.
The Malawi Military Health services is currently running 13 hospital facilities in all the thirteen military cantonments across the country.
