MCP Throws Mega Party For Karonga Local Government Poll Wins, Zikhale Donates Nine Cows

People in Karonga district will on Saturday, 30th March 2024 have a memorable time, treated to a mega party celebrating the Malawi Congress Party triumph in Local Government by-elections.

A total of nine cows will be slaughtered, as promised at the launch of the party’s campaign at Baka ground by the party’s Director of Strategic Planning who is also Homeland Security Minister, Ken Zikhale Ng’oma.

In an interview on Good Friday, Zikhale said people of Karonga deserves a special celebration in appreciation of the confidence and trust demonstrated by voting for MCP candidates.

“I assured them that, if they vote for the three MCP candidates, I will bring cows here for all of them to celebrate the victory. I was very optimistic this will happen as the leadership of President Chakwera has proved to be the darling of many Malawians including those in opposition” Said Zikhale.

Living by his word, barely a few hours after MEC announced the official results of the by-elections, Ng’oma has handed over the promised cows, nine in total for people to celebrate the victory.

Commenting on the gesture, MCP north-north regional chairperson, Kezzie Msukwa thanked Ng’oma for fulfilling the promise he made and saluted MCP loyalists for the trust leading to a 100 percent win in the elections.

He said: “This is memorable time for us, and it is clear that Malawians have trust and confidence in MCP and the leadership of our President, Dr. Lazarus Chakwera”

Malawi Congress Party has won the 26th March 2024 by-elections in Kaporo, Chilanga, and Rukulu Wards which fell vacant following the conviction of its council representatives on corruption charges.
