Hansi Flick could rest one of two key Barcelona forwards vs Sevilla – report

Barcelona will return to La Liga action after a two-week break when they host Sevilla at Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys on Sunday night.

Heading into the game, there is a lot of positive vibes surrounding the Blaugrana as they are set for a triple injury boost this weekend with Gavi, Fermin Lopez, and Dani Olmo all set to receive their medical clearances.

Meanwhile, new signing Wojciech Szczesny is also fully fit and is likely to be available for selection as well.

There had been some concerns about the fitness of Lamine Yamal and Robert Lewandowski after the international break but both have trained normally as well – much to the relief of fans.

Flick could rest one of Yamal or Lewandowski

However, according to SPORT, there is a possibility that manager Hansi Flick will opt to rest one of Lewandowski or Yamal when Barcelona take on Sevilla tomorrow.

Yamal returned from the Spain camp after playing just one game as he picked up a muscle overload. Tests revealed no major problem for the 17-year-old and he has been training normally.

As for Lewandowski, he returned with a strong bruise on his foot after being on the receiving end of a rash challenge by a player during Poland’s game vs Croatia.

The veteran striker, too, is not injured and has been working with the rest of the group normally despite the knock.

But with Barcelona set to take on Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League only three days after the Sevilla clash, Flick might opt to protect one of his star forwards and not risk anything.

Nothing is guaranteed at this point, but if the manager does go down that route, one of Pau Victor or Ansu Fati could get an opportunity to start against Sevilla
