By Burnett Munthali

A group of Malawians living in Tanzania have called on the Malawian government to establish a committee to investigate the tragic plane crash that occurred in Chikangawa Forest, Nthungwa area in Nkhata-Bay District, which claimed the life of Vice President Saulos Chilima and eight other individuals.

Speaking to Malawi24 from Dar es Salaam, the leader of the Malawians in Tanzania, Jamaica Chirwa, expressed their full support for those demanding a thorough investigation into the crash.

“We are Malawians who are deeply affected by this incident, and we stand in solidarity with others who are calling for a proper investigation to uncover the truth behind the plane crash,” said Chirwa.

Chirwa added that if the government fails to establish an investigative committee by November 15, 2024, they will stage a protest at the Malawian embassy offices in Tanzania.

Tanzania is home to many Malawians, most of whom work in various fields such as teaching, medicine, and other professions.
