Mdawuko wa Tonga Fosters Unity and Cultural Preservation

In a bold move to promote cultural heritage and unity, Mdawuko wa Tonga, the Tonga heritage organization, is strengthening relationships with people from different tribes in the urban areas.

By conducting various cultural activities, the heritage aims to provide valuable lessons to future generations and preserve its cultural norms.

Speaking at a gathering in Mzuzu City on Sunday, Parliamentary aspirant William Chikweta Kaweche emphasized the importance of socio-economic growth and development.

Kaweche encouraged the community to be vigilant in fostering development and to consider Tongas taking leading roles.

“By conducting such cultural activities the Tonga Heritage is demonstrating its belief to providing much-needed lessons to the future generation and preservation of cultural norms,” said Kaweche.

Mdawuko wa Tonga chairpersons, Eneld Banda and Ben Banda, expressed gratitude for the community’s support and satisfaction with the number of registered voters for next year’s tripartite elections.

The Tonga tribe is renowned for its peaceful coexistence, diverse food, and traditional dances, including the popular Malipenga dance.

“As Mdawuko wa Tonga continues to promote unity and cultural preservation, the organization is poised to make a lasting impact on the community,” said Banda the Hilltop Mdawuko wa Tonga chairperson.
