Kalindo advises Catholic Bishops not accept security from government

Following armed thugs that went to Limbe Cathedral two days after Archbishop Thomas Luke Msusa preached in the Church that he is not satisfied with the commission of inquiries findings instituted to investigate circumstances surrounding the death of Dr. Saulosi Chilima and eight others, Government is planning to provide security to all Catholic Bishops in Malawi.

Political activist Bon Kalindo reacting to this, has questioned the MCP government news why security to be provided to Catholic Bishops only and no other churches saying this is raising suspicion that government is running away from arresting the thugs believed to be MCP members.

Kalindo has advised Catholic Bishops not to accept security from the same government which is failing to arrest their own thugs describing this as betrayal to them saying if it is security, this must go to all churches across the country.

Speaking through an audio clip, Kalindo has advised Catholic Bishops to employ their own guards to protect them observing that there are sharp spoken religious leaders such as Prophet Mbewe and Sabao, these are critics of the MCP government but government has not thought of providing security to them.

“The MCP government wants to restore the lost relationship with the Catholic Church, what is so special for Catholic Bishops to be provided with security from government? questioned Kalindo.

He has praised two MCP diehards Lawyer Sylvester Ayuba James and Director of ICT in the Office of the President and Cabinet (OPC) Anthony Bendulo for coming out from silence telling President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera in time the truth that he is driving the sinking Titanic ship of 1912.

Ayuba James and Bendulo have advised the MCP to put its house to order that those that sacrifices a lot, shared vision and have passion for change are sidelined and overpowered warning party members that if they lose the elections, they will be prosecuted and jailed within a year.

Kalindo said for 4 years, President Chakwera was surrounded by ministers and advisors who did not tell him the truth that Malawians have lost trust and confidence in him as their leader expressing hope that what Ayuba James and Bendulo have spoken, will ring into the ears of Chakwera.

And on a sad note, Kalindo has condemned the Police in strongest terms possible for shooting DPPs Deputy National Director Brenda Banda on Saturday in Lilongwe where she went to support DPPs Vice President for the centre Alfred Gangata who is in police custody.

Mai Brenda Banda was short with a live bullet on the arm and is battling for her life at the Kamuzu Central Hospital, Kalindo said it is sad that the police are investigating the incident while it is a straight forward issue observing that if the Malawi police was for the people, the said police officer would have by now been arrested.

He has appealed to all genuine and patriotic activists to come together for one strong letter to the international community to share their concerns as one voice reporting the Malawi Government for abusing human rights of the citizens and Army Commander and Inspector General of Police involving themselves in party politics.
