The Defenders Group for Good Governance has advised Malawians not to be carried way with news that the Smartmatic machine has stopped functioning with all the information stored deleted and as a result, voters will go the polls in September, 2025 elections with manual counting of results.
The Group said this was a deliberate plan by the MCP to fool Malawians to be made to believe that Smartmatic machine has been hacked by unknown hackers and as a result, Malawians will be happy for this not knowing the trick.
He has assured Malawians that they will be made to believe of the Smartmatic machine only if the Mec and opposition parties have reached a consensus agreement with their signatures that vote counting in constituencies to District to the main Tally Centre in Lilongwe will be done manually but failing which, the machine will be used on 16th September, 2025.
Blessings Chaima Lozalio has advised Malawians particularly the opposition members to continue working together as one so that together they can escort the machine to the grave for it not to come back on 16th September, 2025.
He said as the writings are indicating on the wall that President Chakwera and his MCP are on the losing side and there is no way he can win the elections except only with the help of Mec Chairperson Justice Annabel Mtalimanja and Smartmatic machine will declare Chakwera the winner.
The activist said that the Smartmatic machine has stopped working was a blue lie from Mec to MCP for opposition parties to be made to believe so quickly running away from conducting Supplementary Voter Registration saying the information was just shifted away from the machine and stored somewhere and come September, 2025 elections, the machine will be used in secret.
Chaima has encouraged Malawians to give pressure to Mec so that it should have no space and time to use the machine for the sake of peace in Malawi observing that political unrest is in the neighboring Mozambique is after the same Smartmatic machine has done the damage.
“For the sake of peace in Malawi, let note the Smartmatic machine be used, we don’t want to see what is happening in Mozambique coming to Malawi,” he said.
He has finally warned Commissioners and officers of the Malawi Electoral Commission (Mec) to work as professionals regardless of their involvement in MCP politics that once they mess up the 16th September, 2025 General Elections, Malawians will hold them accountable for not presiding a free, fair, transparent and credible elections.
