Determining the most corrupt leader among 2025 presidential aspirants Peter Mutharika, Lazarus Chakwera, and Dalitso Kabambe requires examining available conviction evidence and allegations.
Without any conviction, it is illogical and fallacious to conclude that presidential candidate Peter Mutharika is the most corrupt between Lazarus Chakwera and Dalitso Kabambe as recently insinuated by a Nyasatimes reporter.
For starters, it is true that Peter Mutharika’s administration faced criticism for various corruption scandals.
However, there is no specific evidence linking Peter Mutharika directly to corrupt activities.
Furthermore, Peter Mutharika is not answering any corruption charges and he has never been convicted of any corrupt activity by a competent court of law.
Likewise Lazarus Chakwera, there is no concrete evidence of his personal involvement in corrupt activities.
However, some critics argue that Chakwera administration has not done enough to address corruption as a result he is publicly perceived as the beneficiary of the same vice.
As for Dalitso Kabambe, he is current facing criminal charges involving corruption and fraud, as revealed by a forensic audit conducted by Delloit in 2021.
However, Dalitso Kabambe is deemed innocent till proven guilty by a competent court of all.
It must be stressed that assessing the level of corruption among political leaders can be complex and subjective, often depending on various factors, including public perception, legal findings, and political context.
Without comprehensive investigations or convictions, it’s challenging to definitively label one individual as the most corrupt.
As we are heading to 2025 general elections, political analysts and journalists are implored to analyse political scenarios objectively and logically based on concrete evidence.
