By Vincent Gunde

Social Commentator Dr. Samuel Lwara, says the State of the National Address (SONA) which was delivered by President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera on Friday, the 14th February, 2025 in Parliament has proved that he is a lier

Lwara said the 4 years the country has been running under President Chakwera has produced many thieves in his government claiming he was good at appointing people to serve in various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) including State Houses but without assessing their performances.

He has claimed that all those that have been appointed by President Chakwera have not been fired reminding Malaians that President Chakwera promised to fire non-performing Ministers giving them 6 months from July, 2020 but to this day, no one was fired.

Speaking through an audio clip, Lwara has claimed that after President Chakwera delivered his SONA in Parliament, complaints are coming from the areas of the claimed failed projects appearing on the list as completed ones while there is nothing on the ground.

Lwara has observed that the SONA has attracted many people speaking on top of their voices insulting President Chakwera giving all sorts of names for presenting a half-truth SONA in Parliament which is a house of records.

He said even the mad persons have joined those that are normal accusing President Chakwera for laboring himself 3 hours of outlining development projects district by district as completed ones on paper while on the ground is the opposite of true.

The social commentator said President Chakwera has committed a crime in the eyes of Malawians, he has stayed for 4 years in office without assessing what is on the ground relying on reports from his ministers who in turn told him lies that has made him to lie to his people.

“Wake-up Malawians, Chakwera has stolen a lot from us, where is that money which was allocated for police houses, hexalth centres and roads, this man is a thief, he and his ministers must be arrested,” said Lwara.

He has advised those who wants to become President of the country that for them to deliver a good State of the National Address (SONA) they must assess what is on the ground warning them that if they don’t assess what is on the ground, they cannot come up with a good SONA.

He has advised President Chakwera that now he has realized that he delivered a half-truth SONA, he must go back to Parliament to explain how much was allocated for each of the failed projects and a list of contractors assigned to do the projects.

Lwara has finally advised Malawians that Chakwera’s SONA has revealed thieves that have been playing around with taxpayer’s money for their own benefit other than that of the country and citizens, on the 16th September, 2025 there is no need to vote for a thief into the highest office of Presidency.
