DPP’s Saidi Urges Gangata to Stay Focused: “Speak Your Points, Leave the Noise to Us”

By Burnett Munthali

During the highly anticipated political rally at Masintha Ground on Sunday, 13th July 2025, DPP District Governor for Lilongwe, Hon. Saidi, delivered a spirited and strategic welcoming speech for the party’s Central Region Vice President, Alfred Gangata.

He began with a firm and respectful greeting: “Welcome DPP Vice President for the Central, Alfred Gangata.”

His tone reflected both loyalty and admiration, setting the stage for a rally filled with anticipation, tension, and unapologetic political theatre.

Saidi praised Gangata’s political character, saying, “People follow you wherever you go because you don’t use abusive language.”

This was not just a compliment—it was a direct contrast to political opponents accused of using provocative and insulting rhetoric.

He then launched into a fiery attack on unnamed political figures believed to belong to the ruling Malawi Congress Party (MCP), using humorous but cutting descriptions to criticize them.

“There’s someone who is always insulting APM,” Saidi noted, referring to former President Arthur Peter Mutharika.

Without naming names, he mocked the individual’s appearance, saying, “When he starts a jacket, it reaches his knees.”

This jab was followed by strategic advice: “Don’t answer him—speak your points.”

Saidi’s message was clear: Gangata must remain composed and focus on policy, not petty insults.

He continued with another sharp remark, stating, “There’s another woman who speaks through her nostrils.”

Again, he advised Gangata not to engage: “Bwana, don’t respond to her. Just dial your points.”

The message was consistent—ignore provocation and let the public judge by the clarity and dignity of DPP’s message.

As the speech went on, Saidi introduced a third figure into his critique: “There’s another man who is just a walking skeleton—he is very rude.”

The insult was biting, aimed at a vocal opposition figure who, according to Saidi, thrives on disrespect and slander.

But Saidi quickly pulled Gangata back to principle, cautioning, “Bwana, don’t respond to his nonsense.”

He closed his address with a rallying command to the DPP base: “Just say your facts—leave them. We will deal with them.”

The message was both protective and combative, asking Gangata to rise above verbal warfare while promising grassroots supporters would handle the political noise.

Hon. Saidi’s speech at Masintha was more than just a welcome—it was a tactical briefing.

It framed the DPP’s communication strategy going forward: focus on substance, ignore distractions, and let the people decide who truly has Malawi’s future at heart.
