People’s Land Organization-PLO I Thyolo plans to hold vigils at the Thyolo District Council on July 3 this year in a bid reclaim land that their colonial masters allegedly acquired fraudulently.
They want Lands Minister, Deus Gumba to address land issues in Thyolo, Mulanje and Chiaradzulu districts.
PLO chairperson, Fadson Mleme says 23 years have elapsed after the 1999 Malawi Commission of Inquiry on land policy recommended that the British government should compensate indigenous Malawians, Government and others.
He says nothing has happened. Meanwhile, The Radar understands Thyolo District Commissioner, Rosemary Nawasha has invited PLO officials for an interface on June 26 2023.
