Iran has issued a stern and alarming warning, declaring that any further attacks targeting civilian areas within its territory could trigger a powerful military response involving cluster-munition missiles.

The threat was delivered by Iran’s elite military force, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which said it is prepared to escalate its response if strikes against civilian populations continue. According to officials, Iran could deploy cluster-munition missiles capable of striking targets within an estimated range of up to eight kilometers.

In a strongly worded statement, IRGC officials warned that attacks on non-military targets inside the Islamic Republic of Iran would be considered a serious violation that demands immediate retaliation. They stressed that the country will not remain silent if civilians are harmed.

The warning comes amid rising regional tensions following a series of military exchanges involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, raising fears of a broader confrontation across the Middle East.

Military analysts say the mention of cluster munitions signals a dangerous escalation. These weapons disperse multiple smaller explosives over a wide area and are widely criticized because they can cause extensive damage and pose long-term risks to civilians.

International humanitarian groups have long condemned the use of cluster munitions, arguing that unexploded bomblets often remain on the ground for years, posing deadly risks even after conflicts end.

As tensions continue to rise, global observers warn that further escalation between Iran and its adversaries could destabilize the region and increase the risk of a wider conflict.

Diplomatic efforts by international actors are expected to intensify in the coming days in a bid to prevent the situation from spiraling into a full-scale war.
