Morocco Earn US$20.5 Million Despite World Cup Quarter-final Exit

Morocco have earned US$20.5 million (approximately K35.5 billion) from FIFA after reaching the quarter-finals of the FIFA World Cup currently underway in the United States.

The Atlas Lions’ impressive World Cup campaign came to an end after a 2-0 defeat to France in the quarter-finals. Kylian Mbappé and Ousmane Dembélé scored the goals that secured France’s place in the semi-finals.

France will now face the winner of the quarter-final clash between Spain and Belgium as they continue their quest for the World Cup title.

Despite their elimination, Morocco’s run to the last eight marked another significant achievement on the global stage and earned the team a substantial financial reward from FIFA.
