Former President Joyce Banda Urges Private Sector To Assist Survivors Of Cyclone Freddy

Former President Joyce Banda has urged the private sector to assist and adopt a village to help affected households recover from the effects of Cyclone Freddy.

She said her first assignment as ‘Goodwill Ambassador’ is to call upon the private sector to focus on helping in the reconstruction and resilience process in the aftermath of the disaster.

She was speaking in Blantyre when Chibuku Products limited (CPL) donated food and non-food items worth K100 million to survivors of the tragedy that hit the country recently.

CPL Managing Director Gerald Bowler said as a responsible corporate citizen, the company decided to support the communities in need, helping to make a significant difference in their lives.
