Government Improving Soldiers Welfare

By Suleman Chitera Dec21,2022

Deputy Minister of Defence Harry Mkandawire says Government is committed to improving Malawi Defence Force (MDF) soldiers’ welfare.

Mkandawire was speaking in Zomba when Raiply Malawi Limited, Robray Limited and Aki Investments donated assorted items including beds and mattresses to Changalume Camp Hospital in the district.

While commending the companies for the gesture, Mkandawire said the government is putting in place initiatives to address challenges affecting soldiers.

“Some of these initiatives are the construction of houses for the soldiers currently underway across the country,” said Mkandawire.

Speaking on behalf of the three companies, Raiply Malawi’s Human Resources and Administration officer, Freeman Ngwalo, said they take pride in transforming people’s lives.

The monetary value of the donated items was not immediately available.

Changalume Camp Hospital started its operations in 2003.
