Police in Chitipa district have arrested Kayange who poured hot water on her husband





According to Chitipa Police PRO Gladwell Simwaka, on March 7, 2022 the victim Blair Kuyokwa, 35, returned home in the evening and the suspect asked him to provide money for cooking oil.

Kuyokwa produced K2,400 from his pocket and gave the suspect only K400 a thing which angered her.

A brawl broke out between the two with the wife taking a pot of hot water and emptying it on the back of victim.

He was rushed to Misuku health centre before he was referred to Chitipa District Hospital for further medical attention.

The suspect has now been arrested after being in hiding for a few days and will appear before court to answer the charge of acts intended to cause grievous harm which contravenes section 235 of the Penal code.

Meanwhile Police in the district is appealing to women to stop gender based violence against men who are suffering in silence.
