Malawi Telecommunication Limited (MTL) has renewed its three operating licences, allowing the state owned telecommunications firm to resume its services in Malawi for the next ten years.
The licenses include the Application Services License, Network Facilities License, and Network Services License.
Speaking at the ceremony, Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) Director General Daud Suleman expressed confidence that MTL will enhance digital services in the country and extend these services to rural areas.
In his remarks, MTL Chief Executive Officer Dr. Harry Gombachika stated that the company is committed to delivering improved digital services in Malawi.
“We are working towards bringing advanced digital service delivery and one of our strategies is to let the young generation take the lead in upgrading our service delivery and bring in fresh ideas to achieve our goal” said Gombachika.
MTL has promised to bring affordable digital services in Malawi.
