Mwanyali wins Mzuzu Half Marathon again

Civo Athletics Club Athlete Chikondi Mwanyali is the Champion for the 2024 Mzuzu Half Marathon.

Mwanyali covered the 21 Kilometre distance in 1hour and six minutes, beating his last year’s record of 1 hour eight minutes.

Chancy Master of Kamuzu Barracks finished second while Grevazio Mpani finished on third position.

In the ladies category, Faustina Mbemba of Moyale Barracks emerged the winner while Theresa Master and last year’s winner Nalicy Chirwa finished second and third places respectively.

President for Athletics of Malawi, Kondwani Chamwala, said he is impressed with the performance of the athletes and urged them to improve on finishing time.

Vice Board Chairperson for Malawi National Council of Sports, Charles Ulaya, said they are committed to ensuring that the marathon continues annually.
