President Lazarus Chakwera writes

Today, at Malawi Armed Forces College (MAFCO), I have presided over a commissioning parade of a new contingent of officer cadets who have endured 15 months of strenuous training and excelled as per laid down standards.

My administration remains committed in building a modern military that plays its rightful role in national development.

A well trained military institution is significant in realisation of the national development agenda Malawi 2063. It is, therefore, necessary that our military officers get modern knowledge because this helps them become critical thinkers with capacity to find solutions to national problems.

I am also delighted to note that the college continues to grow into a regional hub of military excellence attracting members from other allied forces within SADC and even beyond.
