The Malawi Human Rights Commission-MHRC has given Kalibu Academy 7 days to respond to testimonies in the alleged sexual scandal case.

The MHRC heard testimonies from six witnesses in which the school is accused of using corporal punishment and some officials sexually abusing learners.

The hearing took place yesterday in Blantyre in the absence of the school’s director Pastor Michael Howard who is in Finland.

It has been established that Howard left the country on the 1st of May despite being given notice for the hearing process.

After witnesses testified off camera, the commission adjourned the hearing to a later date.
