A grouping of Chinese business persons in Malawi has joined several groups condemning acts of racism and child abuse involving their countryman.
This follows a recent BBC exposé about a Chinese national identified as Lu-Ke who is allegedly behind the production of videos of Malawian children, forced to make personalised shots with racist content.
The videos were sold and shared on Chinese social media.
In the statement, the Malawi Zhejiang Chamber of Commerce has condemned the behaviour and vows to help bring the culprit to book.
The grouping says the video filming incident is an individual case and should not damage the relationship between the two countries.
It cites their involvement in various projects such as providing boreholes and the establishment of the African Family Poverty Relief Foundation which helps farmers to achieve prosperity with livestock farming.
Meanwhile, the police in collaboration with the Chinese embassy have launched a manhunt for Lu-Ke in order for justice to prevail for children in Lilongwe and Mchinji where he was filming the videos.
