The party hierarchy has observed and noted with regret the use of the name of our immediate past President, Rt. Hon Atupele Muluzi and party structures and emblems by an unapproved grouping calling itself "Friends of Atupele Muluzi.
Right Honorable is still a bonafide member of the United Democratic Front who has always encouraged compliance with the party constitution, rules and code of conduct.
The Friends of Atupele Muluzi grouping' is creating the impression that it is being supported by Rt. Hon Atupele Muluzi which we would like to believe cannot be true.
As a party we hugely distance ourselves from The Friends of Atupele Muluzi" grouping as it is blatantly creating a perception of a parallel structure within the ranks and files of our party membership
The United Democratic Front has unified structures under the leadership of Rt. Hon Lillan Patel who constitutionally took over from Rt. Hon. Let us play the Whistle.
It must be made abundantly clear that using the name of party members and structures to advance personal agendas obstructive to the interests and effectiveness of the party is breaching the party constitution and a breach of party discipline
