Japanese Government Donates 28 Hino Trucks Over K3 Billion To Malawi Government

Government of Japan has donated 28 Hino trucks worth over K3 billion which will be distributed across all the 28 districts.

Speaking during the official handover ceremony, Minister of Health, Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda said the donation will help in immunisation campaigns and other logistics to have a comprehensive and responsive health system.

Chiponda added that it will also help in the transportation of relief items, drugs and medical equipment to victims affected by Cyclone Freddy.

In his remarks, Japanese Ambassador to Malawi Youichi Oya said the donation aims at strengthening the capacity of the healthcare system.

The Japanese Government has also donated a next-generation sequencer and five generators to be fixed at each constructed cold room. The Chakwera government continues to recognize the importance of bilateral and multilateral relationship in its development agenda.
