Government failed to allocate rehabilitation tasks to Volunteer Engineers from Tanzania
59 combat engineers who were deployed by the Republic of Tanzania to restore and rehabilitate infrastructure destroyed by #CycloneFreddy in the southern region have returned to their country.
However, the Tanzanian soldiers have left without carrying out any rehabilitation works as per their mission brief, due to what our sources claim, are delays by Malawian officials to allocate them tasks.

But deputy spokesperson for the Department of Disaster Management Affairs, Chimwemwe Njoloma, has told us that the soldiers have returned at the lapse of their stay period.
