The Future Is Female – Action Aid

ActionAid Malawi through Valuing Women’s Work Programme says girls and women need to be recognised for the roles they play in the economy.

Through the programme, ActionAid Malawi is driving ‘Femeconomics’ through which young women discuss issues that affect them and advocate equality in society.

The programme also seeks to empower young women with various skills, inculcate an understanding of basic political and economic architecture, and energise the women to speak for themselves on all issues impeding their progress.

This morning ActionAid Malawi is hosting visitors from Kenya, Ghana, the United Kingdom, America, India, Columbia and India. The visitors are interacting with young women in Jekemu Village, Traditional Authority Dambe in Mchinji on feminist-related issues.

ActionAid is implementing the VWW programme in Nsanje, Blantyre, Zomba, Dedza, Mangochi, Lilongwe, Mzimba, Rumphi and Mchinji.
