The Golf Union of Malawi says the national golf tournament slated for 18 to 25 June this year will assist to identify best players to represent Malawi at international tournaments.
Speaking after receiving a K5 million sponsorship from FDH bank on Monday the organisation’ president Gift Gondwe said they have also lined up various activities to attract more ladies and young people to learn and play the game.
“We hope such initiatives will assist to build a golf brand in Malawi. We therefore want to thank FDH bank for the support,” said Gondwe.
FDH bank Head of Marketing and Communication, Levi Nkunika said being a home grown bank, they will continue to support the development of golf in the country.
