Three teams in the K40 million Mpico Gateway Mall Central Regional Netball League are under threat that they might be relegated if they will not up their game.
The teams are Mafco Soldiers, Immigration and Sharpshooters who are struggling to collect maximum points to remain relevant in the league.
“After playing 18 games, three bottom teams will be relegated to district league divisions. These teams are aware of the implications of their performance currently,” Chairperson of Central Region Netball League (CRNL), Fernando Ligola told Mana Thursday in Lilongwe.
He said teams have so far played seven games and they pull a surprised by upping their games to collect maximum points to remain in the league.
Mafco Soldiers are eight on the log with four points, Immigration have two points and Sharpshooters are yet to collect a point.
Currently, Blue Eagles Sisters are leading with 14 points followed by Young Eagles with 12 points while Civonets are third with the same number of points.
