Fatigue Takes Toll on Bullets’ Performance
By Draxon Maloya
FCB Nyasa Big Bullets’ failure to beat Mzuzu City Hammers in a mid-week fixture at Mzuzu stadium is attributed to player burnout due to a congested fixture list, according to the team’s technical team.
The defending champions struggled to find their rhythm against Mzuzu City Hammers, requiring second-half changes to secure a draw.

Babatunde Adepoju, Bullets’ loanee from Venda Football Academy, was frustrated by Hammers’ center back Chikumbutso Henderson, leading to his second half substitution for Precious Sambani.

In the post-match interview, Bullets’ coach Calisto Pasuwa acknowledged the toll of playing multiple games in quick succession. “We’ve had 15 days with numerous games, which is unhealthy for football. It affected our performance today.”
Mzuzu City Hammers’ coach Kondwa Ikwanga was pleased with gaining a point against the defending champions. “It was a tough game, but a point is better than nothing.”
Following this result Bullets are still occupying the 3rd position on the log table with 34 points from 21 games while Mzuzu City Hammers remain in 6th position with 33 points from 22 games.
