Speaking to journalists in Lilongwe, Peter Dimba, Chairperson of the Legal Affairs Committee, confirmed that his committee has decided to summon the Malawi Law Society, lawyer Alexious Kamangira, and other key individuals with relevant information on the matter. Kamangira, along with other parties, has raised serious concerns regarding Justice Manda’s conduct.
Dimba noted that this is not the first time the committee has received complaints against Justice Manda. However, this time, the committee is determined to leave no stone unturned. “We are committed to ensuring that all avenues of truth are explored, and if wrongdoing is found, we will not hesitate to recommend the impeachment of the judge,” Dimba stated.
The investigation signals parliament’s strong stance on judicial accountability and its role in maintaining public trust in Malawi’s justice system.
