Malawi is cursing herself as citizens have developed a mentality and a belief that politics of Malawi is about self-interest and self-enrichment
Though it is true that politics has shown visible evidence of personal greed and self- enrichment but there is no need for us as citizens to justify this practice of corruption, personal greed and self-enrichment.
Listening to views of many citizens one can see national frustration over the way politics has been handled lately to the extent where citizens are supporting mediocrity of Malawi Electoral Commission putting Electoral fees at K10 million and K2.5 million for presidents and Members of Parliament.
Malawians are clueless now because of the way politicians have displayed their character and action on the way they have governed this country.
But as a country we are not supposed to give-in or support this political arrogance of few individuals.
As a country we don’t need to or must never bow down to corrupt few, greedy few and few crooks.
This country needs and require redemption.
This redemptional transformation will never come with those who will manage to pay K10 million and K2.5 million, it will come with those who cannot afford this huge amount.
The candidates that will afford this huge amount are either corrupt politicians or recycled politicians that have stolen enough.
This lifestyle is cementing corruption and dynastic culture because neutral minds won’t be able to join the crusade of transforming this country.
We are now developing a scenario where same names, same people will be running the affairs of the country.
No wonder Malawi is far from any hope of transforming anytime soon.
MEC must know that there are patriotic citizens in this country that are willing to contest in elections with the objective of removing this curse that has made citizens lose hope of ever having a government or leader who will change the game of governance and politics in this country.
Mrs. Annabel Mtalimanja and her masters are doing anything they can to place the government in the hands of corrupt and thieves.
We are vehemently rejecting this fees, there must be a review.
In 2019 fees were at K2 million what development can be recorded to hike the fees to K10 million 5 years later?
MEC is not a company for profit, it is a government entity to run elections with our taxes why charging citizens again?
We demand review and reduction of fees so that all citizens can be able to participate not to be barred because of money.
Looking at the mess of economy this government has created who will get that amount of money to be part and parcel of stakeholders in the government?
Truly this country is turning into a mafia state but the majority of people are anti-mafioso, anti-corruption, anti-greed, anti-selfenrichment and anti-destruction of the country.
Malawi is soon to be liberated from the hands of evil.
