Victor Musowa disowns circulating poster: Claims it’s the work of his enemies

By Burnett Munthali

Hon. Victor Musowa, a prominent political figure, has distanced himself from a circulating poster that has sparked curiosity and speculation among the public. When asked to confirm the authenticity of the poster, Musowa categorically denied any involvement, attributing its creation to his adversaries.

“How can I do that? It’s from my enemies,” Musowa stated emphatically, responding to inquiries about the poster. The denial suggests that the poster might have been fabricated as part of a smear campaign against him.

The contents of the poster, as well as its origin, remain unclear. However, the incident highlights the growing trend of political rivalry manifesting in digital spaces, where misinformation and propaganda are often used as tools to discredit opponents.

Observers have noted that this is not the first time Musowa has been targeted by his detractors. The statement adds to ongoing discussions about the role of fake news in shaping political narratives in Malawi.

As investigations into the matter continue, Musowa’s supporters have rallied behind him, urging the public to disregard unverified materials and to remain vigilant against false information. Meanwhile, his political opponents have yet to respond to the allegations of involvement in the poster’s creation.

This development underscores the importance of fact-checking in an era where misinformation can easily spread, potentially tarnishing reputations and influencing public opinion.
