Political activist Bon Kalindo, says he has failed to celebrate his official birthday because he was deeply touched by scores of people that came for Health Surveillance Assistants (HSA) interviews at Chiwembe in Blantyre, Rump hi, Area 30 in Lilongwe and other areas across the country.
Kalindo said the interviews have sent a strong message to those that are advocating for Boma ndilomweli silikuchoka to come back to their senses that Malawi is one nation and what is required is change of leadership on the 16th September, 2025 elections.
He said it was heartbreaking to see to it that graduates from the University of Malawi with degrees and Diplomas attended the HSA interviews speaking to itself that unemployment and poverty rate in Malawi is very high.
Speaking through an audio clip, Kalindo has asked those who are surrounding President Chakwera that with the situation as observed in the walk –in interviews, there is no Boma ndi lomweli whether one likes it or not.
Kalindo said this is the good time for President Chakwera to accept defeat honorably other than waiting for an embarrassing defeat on the 16th September, 2025 elections saying no person who attended the walk-in interviews can stand up to vote for President Chakwera.
He said for the first time in the history of the country, walk-in interviews were held at the Police headquarters in Lilongwe sending a clear message to police officers that many youths in Malawi are for change of leadership in the country.
The activist has expressed his sadness that National Economic Empowerment Fund (NEEF) did not reach out many youth across the country but selective ones whose criteria was youth belonging to the Malawi Congress Party (MCP)).
“Besides huge gatherings at the HSA interviews across the country, there are only less than 2000 openings in the civil service and these interviews were being conducted for formalities, others were already picked before the interviews,” said Kalindo.
He said President Chakwera has failed miserably saying this is demanding opposition parties to come together to liberate the country from the MCP which is doing all of what it can to remain in government by force and not through the peoples’ vote.
Kalindo has asked President Chakwera not to wait until the referee has blown his whistle to end the game but to step down today for his legacy to be saved because the 16th September, 2025 manual counting of votes will send him out of government.
