Bishop Kachenje thanks Gangata for leading opposition politicians

By Vincent Gunde

Activist Bishop W, Kachenje has thanked DPP Vice President for the Centre Hon. Alfred Gangata for coming in the open that he will hold Anti-Violence Demonstrations in Lilongwe as a concerned citizen despite the demos being postponed.

Bishop Kachenje has urged other concerned citizens to join Gangata out of their silence that without them taking part in Anti-Violence Demonstrations next will be them to be targeted for either death or bruised like what happened to activist Sylvester Namiwa on the 26th June, 2025 in Lilongwe.

He has urged Malawians to take away fear from their hearts claiming that God is on their side, they have suffered for 5 years under President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera’s term of office and cannot suffer again in the next 5 years under the same Chakwera and his MCP government.

Speaking through a video clip, Bishop Kachenje said Malawians have witnessed the terror being perpetrated by MCP youth operatives masking their faces terrorizing and hacking innocent people with dissenting voices.

Bishop Kachenje has warned Malawians not to make the second mistake of voting for President Chakwera and the MCP to bounce back into government saying if MCP rule is back on the 16th September, 2025 elections, opposition politicians and activists will all be killed.

He said the MCP has proved itself to be more powerful through its youth operatives who are being left scot-free terrorizing and hacking innocent people in full view of Malawi Police and MDF soldiers and what could happen if the MCP is voted back for the second mandate?

The activist has questioned President Chakwera that what new promises will he make to the electorate to woo them voting for him on the 16th September, 2025 elections apart from telling them that Boma ndilomweli silikuchoka?

He said President Chakwera has nothing to tell Malawians of what the MCP will do if voted back into government because the party has fulfilled no promise made during the 2020 elections campaign trails claiming that all the promises he made are water under the bridge.

Bishop Kachenje said President Chakwera has been proved to be a man whose heart is so hardened, he doesn’t care of the peoples’ sufferings and has no time to listen to the cries of the citizens claiming that if his heart was soft, he would have disciplined his party’s thugs from carrying out ambushes to peaceful protesters.

He has appealed to opposition leaders to put Malawi first, and their positions in the new government second, saying what Malawians are demanding from them is to liberate the country from MCP dictatorship and one-party state and thereafter, they can sit down for power sharing.

“If the opposition leaders can come together for one strong alliance against the MCP, the MCP vote rigging scheme will not work in the country, “said Bishop Kachenje.

On a sad note, Bishop Kachenje has condemned in strongest terms possible the video clip which is circulating in various media platforms showing Gulewamkulu demolishing houses, stealing property like bags of maize in the area of T/A Masula in Lilongwe allegedly to be for a DPP councilor.

He has prayed to the police in Malawi to discharge their duties professionally by arresting all those that carried out the evil under masking their faces to face the law regardless of being members of the ruling party in government.
