Dedza, Malawi – Malawi Congress Party (MCP) chairperson for Dedza, Joshua Malango, has called on party supporters to remain calm and peaceful as the official campaign period for the 2025 elections draws to a close.
Malango, who is also the MCP parliamentary candidate for Dedza Kasina constituency, emphasized that as campaigns wind down, some individuals often attempt to provoke violence. He urged MCP supporters to avoid confrontations with members of rival parties who may deliberately seek to create tension.
“From the start of the campaign period until now, MCP has not been involved in acts of violence. I am confident that our supporters will continue to uphold peace as we move towards Election Day,” Malango said.
The MCP Dedza chairperson expressed optimism that the party will sweep all parliamentary seats in Dedza District. He further appealed to voters to support President Lazarus Chakwera at the ballot so that the MCP government can continue implementing development projects across the country.
Malango stressed that peace and unity are crucial for national progress, noting that a violent-free election will allow Malawians to choose their leaders in a fair and democratic environment.
