Renowned Malawian prophet and philanthropist Shepherd Bushiri has capped off 2025 on a high note after scooping two prestigious continental awards in recognition of his humanitarian and philanthropic work across Africa.

In December, Bushiri was named Best Philanthropist of the Year 2025 at the Zikomo Africa Awards held in Tanzania. Days later, he added another accolade to his growing list after receiving an Honorary Humanitarian Award at the MASO Awards on Saturday, 13 December.
Speaking after the recognitions, Bushiri said the awards affirm the growing impact of his charity initiatives and social empowerment programmes across the continent.
“These awards are not just personal achievements. They represent the lives that have been touched and transformed through collective efforts. This recognition strongly motivates us to scale up our humanitarian work across Africa in 2026,” said Bushiri.
He also commended the organisers of the Zikomo Africa Awards for what he described as exceptional organisation and professionalism, revealing that he closely followed the ceremony through social media and was impressed by the high standards exhibited.

In a significant development, Bushiri disclosed that his events management and marketing consultancy firm has since been engaged to explore a possible strategic partnership with the Zikomo Africa Awards. Discussions are underway to potentially host the continental event in Malawi, at Goshen City, next year.
“Malawi is ready to host high-profile regional events of this nature, and we would be honoured to be part of that journey,” Bushiri said.
If realised, the move would mark a major milestone for Malawi’s events and tourism sector, positioning the country as a viable hub for major African gatherings. It would also further amplify Bushiri’s footprint in humanitarian and development initiatives across the continent as he sets his sights on an expanded impact in 2026.
