Malawi Tobacco Rejection Rate Remains High at 64% as Sales Drop

Eight weeks into Malawi’s 2026 tobacco marketing season, farmers remain concerned over high rejection rates, with auction tobacco rejections currently standing at 64 percent.

TC spokesperson Telephorus Chigwenembe says rejection rates are gradually declining due to ongoing interventions.
