
ERFA and SRFA Endorse FAM President Fleetwood Haiya Ahead of 2027 Elections

Eastern Region Football Association (ERFA) and Southern Region Football Association (SRFA) have publicly endorsed Football Association of Malawi (FAM) president Fleetwood Haiya ahead of the December 2027 FAM presidential elections.
The endorsement was made during the launch of the ERFA Durata Division 2 League at Songani Ground in Zomba, an event sponsored by H.Adam Wholesalers, who have committed K14 million towards the development of regional football.
ERFA Chairperson Issa Brahim and SRFA Chairperson Dailes Kachala made the endorsement, saying Haiya deserves continuity in office due to the reforms and development strides achieved under his leadership. Brahim noted that Haiya played a key role in supporting the establishment of ERFA as an independent regional football body, strengthening governance structures within Malawian football.Haiya pledges financial stability to super league clubs
The leaders said their decision reflects confidence in Haiya’s administration and its impact on football development at both regional and national levels.
In his response, Fleetwood Haiya said the endorsement is a strong sign of trust from key stakeholders, adding that it reflects growing satisfaction with the direction of football administration under his leadership at FAM.
On the pitch, the launch event also featured competitive action in the ERFA Durata Division 2 League, where Songani All Stars defeated FC Letico 2-1 in an entertaining opening fixture.FAM to Roll Out CAF A Licence Coaching Course
The endorsements are expected to add momentum to early political positioning ahead of the 2027 FAM elections as regional football authorities continue to rally behind leadership continuity in Malawi football administration.
