Bobe’s murder case commences with two witnesses testifying

The murder case involving seven suspects charged of murdering Dr. Victoria Bobe on 17th November, 2025 has commended in Blantyre with two witnesses testifying.

Doctor Bobe was shot dead at close range by armed robbers who went away with a laptop and other equipment.

A lot was said with some others condemning the police for lying to the nation that they arrested suspects in connection with the murder of Dr. Bobe in Chigumula township in Blantyre.

Lies have shot legs, the very seven suspects who police paraded in front of cameras appeared before the court on Tuesday where they all pleaded not guilty to the charges levelled against them.Government Tested by Crime: A Call for Decisive Action on Security

The suspects, Charles Chikopa, Maxwell Elia, Rafic Abdul Hassan, Santos Chamaba, Peter Chimenya, Issa Ali, and Peter Mphepo are being remanded at Chichiri prison and have secured a lawyer Goba Chipeta to represent them in court.

Two witnesses, Yamikani Bobe ( husband to the late Dr. Victoria Bobe and Jimmy Kanyerere( a neighbour to Dr. Bobe’s house testified in court and were cross – examined by Defence lawyer Goba Chipeta.Outrage over police handling of Dr. Bobe murder case: Call for Blantyre Police Commissioner to resign

Mr. Jimmy Kanyerere has identified two of the suspects, the one who gunned down his wife and the other person who was shouting at his colleagues while running away after doing the evil act.

The court will meet on Wednesday to continue hearing from witnesses and one of them is a police officer who will demonstrate how the suspects have been speaking after their arrest by police.
