FIFA Pledges Continued support To FAM

The world football governing body-FIFA says it will continue supporting Football Association of Malawi-FAM towards the implementation of its projects.

The assurance came during the FAM induction meeting with a five team member delegation from FIFA at capital hotel in Lilongwe.

In his remarks , FIFA head of development programmes in Africa , Solomon Mudege, who led the delegation, said FIFA is pleased with FAM’s representation at the world’s football governing body and that they will continue supporting FAM.

“There is already forward funding from FIFA to FAM to utilise in its strategic plans and that from time to time we will be sending consultants to see how FAM is implementing its projects,” said Mudege.

Meanwhile, FAM president Fleetwood Haiya commended the gesture by FIFA, saying it has equipped them with knowledge on administration and how FIFA funding works.

The meeting, which was the first of its kind since the election of the new committee at FAM, brought together football administrators, auditors and media personnel.
