Mutual Consent Termination Cites Poor Performance
Blantyre, Malawi – Creck Sporting Club has announced the termination of head coach MacDonald Mtetemera’s contract, effective immediately, due to a string of disappointing results.
Muhammad Seleman, Chief Executive Officer of Creck Sporting Club, confirmed the development, stating that Mtetemera’s 17-month contract was terminated on performance grounds.
Seleman said despite being summoned to appear before the club’s committee to address the issue, Mtetemera’s contract was terminated.
He said that the club will calculate and pay out his remaining 17 months’ salary and allowances.
Currently, former Malawi national team captain Joseph Kamwendo takes the reins as interim head coach, tasked with revitalizing the team’s fortunes.
Mtetemera’s tenure was marked by a decline in performance, prompting the club’s management to re-evaluate its coaching staff.
Fans and supporters have welcomed the change, hoping Kamwendo’s appointment will bring a turnaround in the team’s performance.
