Addressing supporters at a political rally, Banda said the country is grappling with serious hardships, including persistent fuel shortages, skyrocketing prices of basic goods, and overall economic instability.
“The situation demands bold leadership and unwavering commitment to save Malawi from further decline,” Banda declared, adding that her experience as a former Head of State puts her in a strong position to tackle the crisis head-on.
She described the upcoming September 16 elections as a turning point for the country, urging Malawians to make a decisive choice for leadership that prioritizes economic recovery and people’s welfare.
Banda’s remarks come amid rising public discontent over the cost of living and the country’s economic direction.
