Beast-corruption dwindling country’s development

Former Reserve Bank of Malawi Governor Dalitso Kabambe has pointed out corruption as one of the issues hindering the development of this country .

Kabambe made the remarks last night during a Business In-Detail forum in Lilongwe that brought together economic experts, entrepreneurs and business people to share insights on the operating environment and shaping the future of business where he proposed a seven point plan to improve the country’s economy and development.

In his remarks Kabambe proposed that the country must completely root out corruption if it is to develop by prosecuting perpetrators to this mal practice.

He further stated that corruption has been hampering the country’s development and economy for years hence the need to eradicate it.

“One of the key deterrents to Malawi’s development is corruption; Malawi cannot develop with rampant corruption. I therefore propose the prosecution of all known and reported cases,” said Kabambe.

This comes at a time when Malawi is facing economic hurdles that has subjected many to hardships.
