Nankhumwa’s Cabinet dissolved ◼️Speaker of the National Assembly Catherine Gotani Hara has finally acted on an injunction obtained Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Member of Parliament for Machinga Shadreck Namalomba against shadow Cabinet appointed by leader of opposition Kondwani Nankhumwa. Nankhumwa’s Shadow Cabinet led to the change of sitting plan in the chamber which saw Namalomba being moved from seat number 25 to 100.This did not please Namalomba who went to court last week to obtain an injunction on the matter. Opposition DPP lawmaker Shadreck Namalomba reclaims his No.25 seat in Parliament.

The Speaker of Parliament, Catherine Gotan Hara, has bow down to court order which restrict the leader of opposition, Kondwani Nankhumwa, from moving Mangochi south lawmaker Shadrek Namalomba, from his seat. Nullifying the changes, Gotan Hara said Namalomba should return to his number 25 seat from 100 which he was given by Nankhumwa following the court order to do so. The Speaker has since suspended deliberations in order to comply with the Court order. Former President Bakili Muluzi has described as an honor a decision by President Lazarus Chakwera to delegate him to represent Malawi at the burial of Rupiah Banda, former President of Zambia this Friday. Banda died last Friday at his home in Lusaka.Speaking to MIJ Online, Muluzi, has confirmed being delegated by President Chakwera.Muluzi said he has accepted the role because he knew the late Banda for many years including when he was former minister of foreign affairs during the late Former President Kenneth Kaunda's reign and when he was an ambassador in New York.

Bornfree in a weekend of charity work Malawi Congress Party ladies operating under the umbrella of Bornfree had a busy day on March 12,2022 as they were engaged in doing charity work on separate functions that took place in the districts of Lilongwe and Mchinji respectively. In Lilongwe, the Lilongwe chapter visited Mrs. Zapita, a granny who is taking care of two children whose mother died after giving birth to a baby on February 20,2022, and the baby is one of the children cared by the granny in Likuni. As the Lilongwe chapter was in Likuni, the Mchinji chapter was at Daniel Village of TA Mduwa where it visited Siwema Joseph, the mother who has given birth to triplets (all girls) but is finding it difficult to take care of the three due to financial problems.
