Mwenefumbo Says UTM Not Hungry For Power

United Transformation Movement (UTM) Party led by the country’s Vice President Saulos Chilima claims it is not hungry for power as other sections suggest

In statement seen by this publication UTM spokesperson Frank Mwenifumbo has described the claims as baseless.

“We leave the political hallucinations to those who have no clue and essence to offer Malawians anything but grief and insults,” said Mwenefumbo in the statement

He said the party remains committed in working with President Lazarus Chakwera to deliver Tonse Alliance promises.

Last month, Malawi Congress Party (MCP) declared President Lazarus Chakwera as its torchbearer in the forthcoming 2025 Presidential polls.

The declaration was made by the party’s Vice President for the North Harry Mkandawire.

The declaration attracted mixed reactions with many criticizing Mkandawire.“
