MANGOCHI, MALAWI — Mangochi District Hospital has received a timely and significant boost after philanthropist and businessman Rhodrick Junaid Kalumpha, popularly known as RJK, stepped in to resolve a longstanding challenge that had affected the hospital’s ability to prepare meals efficiently.
On Saturday, August 21, the hospital received a donation of heating oils worth millions of kwacha to support the operation of its electric cooking pots.
The donation has brought back into use cooking equipment that had remained grounded for years despite playing an important role in the preparation of meals for patients and other people at the hospital.
The intervention followed a report about the challenge that reached Kalumpha. Rather than simply expressing concern or waiting for others to respond, RJK chose to act.
He personally provided the funds needed to purchase the much-needed heating oils, enabling the hospital’s electric cooking pots to resume operations.
