There is growing talk in town that the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) are beginning to look the same in the eyes of some Malawians.
What people criticised MCP for doing is now being compared with what DPP is doing today. The faces may be different, but the political style appears familiar to many observers.
This has left some Malawians asking a simple question: Where is the change?
After every election, people hope for a new direction, better leadership and improved living conditions. But when similar political practices continue under different administrations, frustration naturally grows.
For ordinary Malawians struggling with the cost of living, unemployment and lack of opportunities, political change means little if their daily lives do not improve.
The concern is that Malawi may be slowly losing its direction. Little by little, the national ship appears to be drifting, while citizens wait for leadership that can provide a clear and practical course.
The message from the streets is becoming louder: Malawi needs genuine change, not simply a change of political party.
