International charity, Nora Docherty Foundation has donated fertiliser to 1,400 households from Traditional Authority-TA Kasumbu in Dedza to mitigate hunger-related problems among the beneficiaries.
The organization’s Country Coordinator, Alick Botha said they have spent 130 million for the items with each benefiting farmer receiving two bags of fertilizers weighing 50 kilograms, that is NPK and Urea respectively.
Both Group Village Headman Chiluzi and Chimphandu say the farm inputs were timely, as prices have skyrocketed on the local market, with a 50kg bag fetching K80, 000.
One of the beneficiaries, Asiyatu Anusi says the inputs will help her family become food secure in the 2022/23 farming season.
