Kathumba’s stance follows the DPP’s move to reassign Ganda from her role as Director of Elections, rather than dismissing her. In his letter, he suggested that if he were former President Arthur Peter Mutharika, he would have taken a firmer stance by firing Ganda immediately. He described her as an experienced politician who knew the potential consequences of her actions when she indirectly campaigned for President Lazarus Chakwera ahead of the 2025 elections.
