Mangochi Senior Resident Magistrate’s Court has sentenced Tupac Justin, 47, to one year imprisonment with hard labor and a K100,000 fine for possessing medical drugs without documentation.

Justin was arrested on September 28, 2024, during a roadblock search where officers found K5 million worth of assorted medical drugs in his Toyota Hiace minibus which was enroute to Lilongwe.

Further investigation led officers to Justin’s house, uncovering more drugs.

State prosecutor Sub Inspector Davie Katandika argued Justin’s actions endangered lives since he’s not a medical practitioner.

Senior Resident Magistrate Muhammad Chande sentenced Justin, ordering the drugs forfeited to the government, condemning misuse while patients face shortages.
